Why Open Tip Matters

The “Open Tip” design removes the protective metal sheath from the immediate sensing junction. In a standard grounded or ungrounded probe, heat must travel through the outer wall and insulation before reaching the Type K junction. This creates a lag. By exposing the junction directly to the exhaust gas, this sensor achieves near-instantaneous response times.
