The TCA2 Dual Channel Thermocouple Amplifier (CAN ID – Box A) is the foundational solution for integrating two critical high-temperature data points into your engine management strategy. Whether you are monitoring Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) on a twin-cylinder motorcycle engine, measuring Turbo Charger Inlet temperatures, or tracking Catalytic Converter health, this device provides the precise signal conditioning required for reliable data.

Signal Integrity and Digital Reliability

Raw thermocouple signals are notoriously difficult to log accurately due to their low voltage and sensitivity to electrical noise. The TCA2 solves this by mounting the amplifier close to the source and digitizing the signal immediately. This unit is configured as “Box A”, serving as the primary node for temperature data on the CAN bus. It features integrated Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) to automatically correct for ambient temperature fluctuations, ensuring that the reported value is absolute and accurate.

Designed for the Haltech ecosystem, it connects directly to the Elite or Nexus CAN port. The data is broadcast in real-time, allowing the ECU to use these temperature inputs for active engine protection functions, such as fuel enrichment or boost reduction during high thermal stress events.
