The **Nexus PD16** represents the next generation of vehicle power management. This kit combines the PD16 unit with a **5-meter Flying Lead Harness**, offering a complete solution for modernizing your vehicle’s electrical system. The PD16 is a 16-channel Power Distribution Module designed to replace traditional fuses and relays with intelligent, solid-state switching. CRITICAL NOTE: The PD16 is designed to function as an I/O expander and PDM for **Haltech Elite and Nexus ECUs ONLY**. It does **not** function as a standalone PDM. It requires a master Haltech ECU on the CAN bus to provide logic and control instructions.

Engineering Deep-Dive: Solid-State Switching

Traditional relays rely on mechanical contacts that arc, wear out, and bounce under vibration. The PD16 utilizes High-Side drivers (MOSFETs) to switch power to your components. This allows for features impossible with relays: **Soft Start** (ramping current to protect fans/pumps), **PWM Control** (speed control for pumps/fans), and **Automatic Retry** (resetting a circuit after a transient fault). The PD16 integrates 10 x High Side Outputs (8A), 4 x High Current Outputs (25A), and 2 x Half-Bridge Outputs (capable of push-pull control for electronic wastegates or door locks).
