The Elite 2500 + Toyota 2JZ HPI6 Terminated Harness Kit is designed for builders who wish to retain the factory Toyota ignition coils or similar 2-wire inductive coils but require the high-current driving capability of an external igniter. This kit includes the Elite 2500 ECU, a terminated engine harness, and crucially, the HPI6 (High Power Igniter 6-Channel) module complete with a pre-wired harness. The HPI6 module takes the logic-level signal from the ECU and amplifies it to drive high-current “dumb” coils, replacing the aging and often limited factory Toyota igniter (DH61).
Engineering for Reliable Ignition
This setup is perfect for “Street” builds that want to keep the engine bay looking original with factory coils but need the reliability of modern electronics. The HPI6 module is capable of 15 amps per channel, far exceeding the factory specifications, ensuring a hot, consistent spark. The harness utilizes Bosch EV1 injector connectors.
