Flexible Ignition Integration for FD RX-7
The Elite 1500 + Mazda 13B S6-8 CAS with Flying Lead Ignition Harness Kit is designed for the rotary builder who needs the reliability of a new engine harness but wants the flexibility to choose their own ignition setup. This kit connects the Haltech Elite 1500 ECU to the critical engine sensors (CAS, TPS, Temp) and fuel injectors (via Bosch EV1 connectors), but leaves the ignition output wires as flying leads. This allows you to terminate the ignition wires to whatever coil system you prefer—whether it’s the factory coils, LS2 truck coils, or a CDI system.
Core System Architecture
The harness is pre-terminated for the S6-8 CAS, ensuring accurate timing input to the ECU. The fuel system is handled by robust Bosch EV1 connectors, supporting a wide variety of aftermarket injectors. The “Flying Lead” ignition section provides the necessary trigger and power wires, labeled and ready for you to crimp on the connectors for your specific coil choice. This is the ideal solution for custom builds where coil placement or type deviates from the standard.
