MAP Sensor Conversion for Gen IV LS
The Nexus Rebel LS – MAP Sensor Adaptor Harness facilitates the connection of the Rebel LS main harness to Gen IV style Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensors. The Rebel LS main harness is terminated with a connector for the early Gen III (LS1 style) MAP sensor. This adapter allows you to use the later Bosch-style sensors found on LS2, LS3, and LSA engines without cutting or re-pinning the main loom.
Engineering Deep-Dive: Connector Compatibility
GM changed the MAP sensor connector design between Gen III and Gen IV engines. Gen III uses a Weather-Pack style connector, while Gen IV uses a flatter, clipped connector (often Bosch). This adapter features a male Gen III plug on one end and a female Gen IV plug on the other, ensuring a secure, watertight seal and correct pin mapping for the 5V reference, ground, and signal wires.
Operational Benefits: Plug-and-Play Swaps
This adapter is perfect for users putting a newer Gen IV intake manifold on an older engine, or using a Gen IV engine with the standard Rebel LS harness configuration. It ensures accurate load data for the ECU.
