Oil Pressure Adaptation for Gen IV LS Blocks
The Nexus Rebel LS – Gen IV Oil Pressure Sensor Adaptor Harness adapts the Rebel LS main harness to suit the oil pressure sensor found on Gen IV GM LS engines. The main Rebel LS harness is terminated for the Gen III (LS1) style sensor. Gen IV engines use a different sensor with a smaller connector body. This adapter allows for direct connection without splicing.
Engineering Deep-Dive: Sensor Differences
The Gen III oil pressure sensor is a large, 3-pin unit (though often only 1 wire is used for the gauge in OEM applications, the ECU sensor uses 3). The Gen IV sensor is a compact 3-pin unit. This adapter handles the physical connector change and ensures the correct pinout for Signal, 5V Reference, and Ground is maintained for the Nexus Rebel LS ECU to read oil pressure accurately for engine protection features.
Operational Benefits: Reliable Monitoring
Oil pressure is a critical parameter for engine safety. This adapter ensures a reliable, sealed connection to the sensor, allowing the ECU to trigger safety shutdowns or warnings in the event of pressure loss.
