Mechanical Throttle Integration for Rebel LS
The Nexus Rebel LS – Cable Throttle + IAC Sub-Harness enables the use of a traditional cable-operated throttle body with the Rebel LS system. While the Rebel LS supports DBW, many race applications prefer the simplicity of a cable. This sub-harness connects to the DBW/Throttle breakout on the main harness and provides connectors for the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.
Engineering Deep-Dive: Idle Control
Converting to cable throttle requires a stepper motor for idle control. This harness wires the 4-pin GM IAC stepper motor directly to the ECU’s outputs, allowing the Rebel LS to manage idle speed during warmup and load changes. It also connects the 3-pin TPS to provide load data to the ECU.
Operational Benefits: Legacy Compatibility
Perfect for Gen III engines or race cars where a mechanical pedal link is preferred. Allows for the use of large aftermarket cable throttle bodies (e.g., 90mm, 102mm).
