The Nexus Universal V8 – IGN-1A GM/Chrysler Harness is a specialized sub-loom designed to integrate High Output IGN-1A Inductive Coils into the Haltech Nexus Universal V8 Terminated Harness system. IGN-1A coils (often rebranded by AEM, Holley, etc.) are the gold standard for high-boost and high-compression engines, capable of delivering massive spark energy. However, they require specific wiring, including heavy-duty power and ground feeds, to function correctly. This harness is engineered to support these smart coils in applications typically found on GM LS or Chrysler Hemi engines, providing a plug-and-play interface that handles the high current demands without the need for custom fabrication.

Engineering & Construction

This harness features the specific 5-pin connectors required for IGN-1A coils. Crucially, it manages the complex grounding requirements of these coils (which have separate grounds for the logic trigger and the high-current secondary discharge) by routing them correctly back to the main harness interface. The power wires are sized to minimize voltage drop during coil dwell, ensuring maximum saturation. The harness is configured to lay out cleanly on V8 valve covers, mimicking the routing of a factory coil harness but with the capability to support 2500+ HP ignition systems.
