The Deutsch DTM-2 Connector Set is arguably the most essential component in a professional tuner’s inventory. This 2-pin, sealed connector system is the de facto standard for connecting 2-wire sensors and actuators in high-performance wiring harnesses. Engineered for currents up to 7.5 Amps, the DTM-2 is compact, lightweight, and virtually impervious to environmental contaminants. This kit includes the complete mating pair—plug, receptacle, wedges, and terminals—allowing you to build a serviceable, quick-disconnect point for Air Temperature (IAT) sensors, Coolant Temperature (CLT) sensors, fuel injectors (in custom looms), and variable valve timing solenoids.

Design Superiority

Unlike standard automotive connectors that rely on simple friction fit, the Deutsch DTM series employs a robust latching mechanism and a silicone interfacial seal. When mated, the connector creates a watertight barrier that prevents corrosion of the terminals, a common cause of sensor drift and erratic readings. The size 20 contacts are designed for signal fidelity; their low resistance ensures that voltage signals from temperature thermistors or VR magnetic sensors are transmitted to the ECU without distortion. The thermoplastic housing is resistant to fuel, oil, and hydraulic fluid, ensuring longevity even when installed directly on the engine block.

Installation and Fitment

This kit is designed for “Plug and Play” fabrication. It requires a proper Deutsch crimping tool (Size 20) for the terminals. Once crimped, the pins slide into the rear of the housing and snap into place. The orange wedgelocks are then inserted from the front to positively lock the pins, preventing push-back during mating.
