Bridge Your Elite ECU to Modern OBDII Diagnostics
The Haltech Elite CAN Cable DTM-4 to OBDII (1800mm / 72") is a specialized interface cable designed to unlock the diagnostic and display capabilities of your Haltech Elite Series ECU. In the modern era of performance tuning, the ability to interface with wireless monitoring tools is essential. This cable connects the dedicated DTM-4 CAN port on your Elite ECU directly to a standard female OBDII connector. This bridge allows you to utilize popular OBDII-based Bluetooth or Wi-Fi dongles (such as those used with smartphone apps like Torque Pro or DashCommand) to display real-time engine data streamed directly from your standalone ECU.
Seamless Integration with Wireless Tech
While the Haltech Elite ECU is a powerhouse of processing, visualizing that data often requires expensive dash displays or a laptop. This cable offers a cost-effective and convenient alternative for street cars and track day enthusiasts. By emulating an OBDII data stream over the CAN bus, the Elite ECU can broadcast vital parameters like RPM, coolant temperature, manifold pressure, and air-fuel ratio to a standard OBDII reader. The 1.8-meter length is specifically chosen to allow routing from the ECU mounting location (often in the footwell or behind the glovebox) to an accessible point under the dashboard, mimicking a factory OBDII port location for easy access.
Technical Construction
Constructed with shielded, twisted-pair wiring, this cable ensures that the high-speed CAN signals remain immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI) found in the cabin environment. The OBDII connector is molded to SAE J1962 standards, ensuring a secure fit with any standard scan tool or wireless dongle. The DTM-4 connector features gold-plated terminals and a positive locking mechanism, guaranteeing that the connection to the ECU remains solid even under high-vibration conditions.
Technical Specifications
